We’ve got to admit that the first pictures portraying Sony Ericsson Rachael and Kiki were not at all convincing, or clear enough to make us figure out what they’re all about. Now, there’s a fresh batch of pics available online, detailing the two handsets’ design and features.
What’s more interesting is that there’s also a neat Sony Ericsson Rachael UI video demo available online and you can watch it below, but beware of the large quantity of drool it triggers. Rachael is all about Android 2.0, the hot Snapdragon CPU (1 GHz), an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, 3D graphics and 7.2Mbps HSDPA.
As far as Kiki is concerned… well, it has an exotic name, it might be an exotic low end phone and… that’s about it. Once again, beautiful Rachael UI video below! Drool!
Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 was already leaked on the web a couple of times, but this time we’re dealing with blueprints of the device, that have just surfaced online.
Notice those top and bottom grills… could they be the ones covering the loudspeaker? Also, we have to say that these seem like the final blueprints, since they resemble the leaked XPERIA X2 pictures we’ve seen before. Too bad that these sketches don’t reveal the real and final specs of the device, or info regarding the rumoured OLED screen of the smartphone.
Among the rumoured specs there’s also a better CPU than the one on the X1 and 512MB RAM, but they are far from being confirmed. What’s sure about the X2 is the inclusion of an 8 megapixel camera on the features list, with an LED flash and the arch-slider design of the X1. Revamped X Panels should also be on board, together with PS3 remote play, just like on Sony Ericsson Aino.
Mobile.nu has a neat scoop for us all: turns out that Sony Ericsson is planning on launching an Android monster later this year, an Android 2.0 smartphone bearing the codename Rachael. Could it be the device below?
We learn that the handset will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU (1 GHz), a 8.1 megapixel camera, Android 2.0 (Donut) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Could this device be branded XPERIA or is just a speculation/concept/Photoshop?
Expect the smartphone to pack an impressive amount of memory, a superb interface and probably every type of top notch feature you can imagine.
Mobil.nu has already shown us a very beautiful Sony Ericsson handset, dubbed Rachael, an Android 2.0 device that looks quite promising and now they have some info (and a render) of the Sony Ericsson Kiki phone. The handset’s display is made out of glass and the image is projected on it from the back of the phone.
The projection-based display creates an image with “depth” and so far, no specs are known for the Kiki phone. We’re dealing with a low end device, as the on-screen icons reveal and we wonder if this will ever hit Vodafone, since the carrier’s mentioned on the display. Viable or just a concept?
Sony Ericsson Naite is the manufacturer’s freshest 3G device, that’s part of the eco series GreenHeart. Yes, you’ve read it right, this is an eco-friendly device we’re talking about.
It comes with basic e-mail and texting features, video phone calls, a 2 megapixel camera, photo uploading and a neat media player. Naite will support web surfing, Bluetooth connectivity and its eco side is revealed by the lack of chemicals used in the production process.
Also, we learn that paper consumption was reduced thanks to smaller packaging and less (or none) paper manuals. The bundled charger is also energy efficient, saving Mother Earth once again. Sony Ericsson Naite also comes with an Ecomate app, that allows the user to make green choice, plus a Carbon Footprint calculator, that’ll reveal the amount of CO2 you use daily.
We’ve seen quite a bunch of XPERIA X2 pictures and found out its specs already, so now it’s only logical that Sony Ericsson must announced the handset. This might happen tomorrow, June 17, or so claim the latest rumours related to the matter.
Let us remind out that the follow-up to the XPERIA X1 comes with a faster processor, an 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and 30fps video recording, plus Windows Mobile 6.5. There’s also an upgraded Panel UI on board and a very neat 3.5 inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display among the specs.
The official launch event seems to be taking place in Singapore, since SE has scheduled a press event there for tomorrow. The event centers around Sony Ericsson’s entertainment services, but “cutting edge technology” is also mentioned. XPERIA X2 coming in just hours?
The PSP Go! console isn’t even available yet and Sony is already preparing to develop a new version of the acclaimed gadget. This time, the device will also incorporate a phone, just like the one made by Sony Ericsson, according to Reuters.
Sony intends on assembling a team of specialists in July, in order to start working on the brand new console. What’s the rush all about? It could be blamed on the iPhone, with its growing popularity and attention from game developers. Back in 2007, everyone was stunned to see a Sony patent filling showing a PSP-like device with phone features.
The info was followed by hundreds of concepts and designs, none of them looked upon even when the folks of Sony were developing the PSP Go!. Oh Sony, will you ever implement a touchscreen and dual analog controllers?
Apple and other important handset makers have closed a deal with the European Commission, announcing that they’ll start selling phones with universal chargers from 2010. Among the companies on the list there’s Nokia, LG, Motorola, RIM, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.
Also, major chipset makers like NEC, TI and Qualcomm have accepted the deal. We remind you that back in February, the GSMA had closed a deal with the phone makers, in order to implement the micro-USB technology on all phone chargers by 2012. The standard was also supported by the CTIA, the US wireless trade association.
The advantage of this decision is the fact that consumers won’t have to worry about losing their unique chargers any more, since they’ll be able to charge their handset by borrowing a friend’s similar accessory. This measure also helps reduce costs and it turns out that Nokia is already using the micro-USB connectors on some phones and even Sony Ericsson agreed to give up their proprietary charging technology.
In Apple’s case, it’s possible that the company includes a micro USB adapter and its own Dock connector in Europe, but they may be sticking to the first one, after all.
