Previously, VoIP applications on iPhone were enabled for Wi-Fi connectivity. Now AT&T announced this week that they have finished all necessary actions  so that Apple can enable VoIP applications on iPhone to run on AT&T’s wireless network. For some time, AT&T has offered a variety of other wireless devices that enable VoIP applications on 3G, 2G and Wi-Fi networks. AT&T this afternoon informed Apple Inc. and the FCC of its decision.

Apple has just released a new firmware update for the iPhone OS and the new version 3.1.2 includes bug fixes and improvements, including the following:

• Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming
• Resolves intermittent issues that may interrupt cellular network services unitil restart
• Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone not wake from sleep

Note: As usual be careful to update your iPhone if you have jailbreaked it since you will loose the jailbroken firmware.

If you’ve discovered any nice little shortcuts or features that help speed up the ipone’s useability or whatnot share them in here and we’ll try get a nice little list going.

1. Scroll up to the Address bar with one touch
When browsing a long web page it can take a while to flick all the way again back to the top if it, instead of flicking just touch the very top bar (the one with the AT&T text and time on there) and it’ll shoot you right back to the address bar.

2. Hard Reboot
If for some reason your iPhone freezes up and holding the sleep/wake button doesnt fix it you can perform a ‘hard reboot’. To do this just hold the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10 seconds then all should be back to normal again.

3. Close A Non-Responsive Program
To force-close a non-responsive program (Safari!), simply hold the Home Button down for approximately 6 seconds. (Kender)

4. Find The URL Of A Link
To find the URL of a link in Safari just tap and hold on the link and a bubble will pop up showing you the URL it links to.
