In the United States, the FBI has calculated that a burglary occurs every 8 seconds and that three out of four homes will be burglarized within the next 20 years. There’s no reason to wait until it happens to you. Video surveillance systems were originally designed to offer the ultimate in security for banks, airports and casinos. Recent technological advances have made them inexpensive and simple enough to be used at home. Most surveillance systems retail for $250 or more! In our guide, we show you how to accomplish this for free!

Motorola Sholes is yet another rumoured Android phone that just got the FCC approval and it’s getting ready to reach an US carrier soon, may be Verizon, or even T-Mobile. The latter will also be selling the other Android phone made by Moto, Cliq, starting October.

Motrola, in a move to save money, has decided to out source all devices that retail for $150 or below according to Chinese publication United Daily News. That’s over 40 million devices a year.
Instead of having to build a factory, buy components, pay workers and whatever other logistical nightmares are associated with building something in China, the company decided instead to simply slap their brand onto something that was built by someone else.
MediaTek will made the chips inside those devices, so it will be ultra cheap, yet reliable chips. Fact: Almost all the Chinese clones use MediaTek chips.
Verizon is preparing for launch a yet unannounced rugged phone, the Motorola Barrage V860 handset. The Motorola Barrage V860 is a push to talk clamshell phone that comes in 2 versions: one without a camera and the other one with a 2 megapixel camera.
The first official Android phone form Motorola is Motorola CLIQ , ready for its October debut in the US and it’ll also reach Europe very soon, being dubbed as Moto DEXT. The Motorola CLIQ device has recently had its first promo video released online and it goes something like this:
We would remind you that Motorola CLIQ is a very appealing device, as you can see in the video , specially because it packs a touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, and the ultra cool MOTOBLUR UI, on top of Android 1.5. 3G, GSM, EDGE, WiFi and GPRS are also supports, while the high resolution camera packs a 5 megapixel module with auto focus and geotagging.
Facebook, Twitter, Picasa, MySpace and Photobucket are all supported via MOTOBLUR, that’ll push their updates to the main screen. Motorola CLIQ’s specs list also includes Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. GPS, Google Maps and Street View, plus a 1420 mAh battery.
Mobile phone maker Motorola announced only two days ago
that its first device running under Google’s Android operating system was set to
come to the market as the Motorola CLIQ in the US and as Motorola DEXT in the
rest of the world, and now the first hints towards its availability have
emerged. The handset seems set to become available in the UK on Orange at the
beginning of October, while US users will be able to get it most probably in
early November.
Motorola DEXT’s page on Motorola.com shows that the mobile phone will
become available for pre-order on Orange UK on September 22, and that it will
hit the market in early October. At the same time, TmoNews shows a picture that reads clearly “Pre-order starts on
10/19.” Considering the fact that T-Mobile usually launches its handsets about
three weeks from the pre-order kick-off, it would be safe to assume that the
beginning of November is that release time frame for the Motorola CLIQ.
Unfortunately, no exact details on the pricing of the phone have been unveiled,
though we might assume that DEXT will come to the UK for free on a contract.
More information on the CLIQ’s cost will certainly surface as the pre-order day
nears, for the carrier is expected to officially announce the phone’s
availability at that time.
Interestingly enough, although Motorola announced its first mobile device powered by
Android as the Motorola CLIQ, though mentioning it would come as DEXT in other
markets, these launch dates show that US Android fans will get the phone later
than others. This wouldn’t be the first time when T-Mobile launches a phone
later than other carriers, yet it has been expected to have the CLIQ at least
during the same time frame as the rest of the world.
Motorola’s first Android device, which seems to be the same as the recently spotted M200, is set to show to the world that
the phone maker is still capable of delivering attractive and powerful handsets.
Other Android-based phones are also expected to come from the company, with
availability on the airwaves of more carriers, including Verizon.
T-Mobile USA today announced the upcoming availability of the Motorola CLIQ
with MOTOBLUR, the first Android-powered device from Motorola and the first
device to feature the innovative MOTOBLUR solution. The CLIQ will be available
exclusively in the U.S. from T-Mobile later this fall.
Below are 2 brief video tours of the Motorola CLIQ. The Motorola CLIQ for
T-Mobile is the manufacturer’s first Android-based phone. It will run the
personalized MOTOBLUR interface, capable of taking all important information
from the world of social networks and serving it right on the user’s homescreen.
Hardware features include a 3.1-inch HVGA screen, 5MP autofocus camera, 3.5mm
jack, 3G, Wi-Fi and a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard. There will also be an
international version, called the DEXT.
Its probably the last chance for Motorola to shine. Its either they come up with
some kick-ass range or being kicked in their ass. The odds is against them,
while the idea of adopting Android sounds great, frankly i dont see how it will
save them as there are way too many device manufacturers cranking out similar
looking devices with similar features. It would be interesting to see how
Motorola will get out of this mess.
